Bonnaroo 2025 continues its long-standing commitment to sustainability with a variety of initiatives designed to minimize environmental impact and promote eco-conscious practices. One key effort is the allocation of $1 from every ticket sold to support sustainability projects on-site, such as a permanent compost pad and a solar array that powers parts of the festival. These funds also contribute to carbon offsets, helping to mitigate the festival's carbon footprint.

The festival features Planet Roo, a dedicated area focused on sustainability and social impact, where attendees can engage in educational activities. The Learning Garden offers hands-on training in growing food, led by knowledgeable farmers, while The Academy hosts workshops on topics like upcycling and gardening. The HOW Stage in Planet Roo, powered entirely by solar energy, hosts performances, discussions, and demonstrations on making a positive impact, blending entertainment with education.

Bonnaroo also prioritizes food recovery and donations, working to reduce waste by redistributing surplus food to local food banks. Additionally, the festival encourages sustainable practices among attendees, such as discouraging vehicle re-entry (with a $40 fee for those who do, which supports greening initiatives) and providing free water stations throughout Centeroo to reduce plastic bottle usage. These efforts reflect Bonnaroo's broader mission to foster a community that values environmental stewardship.
